Ok so before the degree show, which was in JUNE? (Sorry this is so late people) I started to make a collection of embellished fabrics aimed towards a fashion market. Inspired by the landscape of the Lake District and a mixture of natural imagery, I combine hand and machine stitch to create tactile embellishments. The new embellishment had to have luxurious and expensive quality, therefore I inserted beading, crystals and sequins in darker colours to represent the darker background colours found within the woodlands.
Here are the results of my most successful samples on a larger scale modelled by the lovely Jo Mandel. The photographs were taken by Lorna Berry.
